David Dickey is a dual-graduate of the University of Florida receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science (1981) and a Juris Doctorate degree, with honors (1992). In addition to his extensive experience in the areas of personal injury, professional negligence, wrongful death and commercial litigation, David brings a notable military background to the Firm.  A U.S. Navy veteran, David proudly served Naval Aviation with Fighter Squadron Two (VF-2) flying the F-14 Tomcat as a RIO logging over 1,000 flight hours and 250 carrier arrested landings.   In 1986, he graduated from the Naval Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) and went on to work in a special projects position with the Navy Operational Intelligence Center in Washington, D.C.  Military awards include the Navy Achievement Medal and the Navy Commendation Medal for meritorious service. After leaving active duty, David served in the Naval Reserve assigned to the Defense Intelligence Agency unit with the U.S. Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, Florida, including support during The Gulf War.

David was admitted to the Florida Bar 1992 and is admitted to the Bars of the United States Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit, U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, and U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida. He is an active member of numerous professional associations including: Hillsborough County Bar Association (Member section on Trial Lawyers); American Bar Association; he Florida Bar (Member Section on Trial Lawyers); and the Florida Justice Association (Eagle Member and former Board). From 1992 to 2006, David practiced with the law firm of de la Parte & Gilbert, P.A. in Tampa, Florida, as a partner and integral member of their litigation team including lead counsel in 5 civil jury trials.  David joined The Yerrid Law Firm on January 1, 2007.

David has extensive experience in civil, commercial and appellate litigation. He has successfully prosecuted claims for wrongful death, medical malpractice, professional malpractice, construction defects, products liability, motor vehicle accidents, motorcycle accidents, commercial trucking, aviation crashes, insurance claims practices, and class action lawsuits.  In 2006, David was part of the trial team that achieved the largest civil jury verdict in the nation and the largest medical malpractice verdict in Florida history.  Since joining the Yerrid Law Firm, David participated in twelve (12) jury trials, including six (6) cases that resulted in multi-million dollar damage verdicts, and numerous cases with settlements in excess of a million dollars.

Active in many community and charitable organizations, David works to promote health, fitness and athletic programs for people of all abilities.  He is the father of four children, Avery, Riley, David and Dakota.
